A two-time Pura Belpré Honoree for Illustration, Angela Dominguez was born in Mexico City and grew up in Texas. She earned an M.F.A. from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, where she teaches in the School of Illustration. Her debut middle-grade novel Stella Diaz Has Something to Say was a Chicago Public Library pick for Best Books for Kids, and an ALA Notable Book for Children. She is the creator of the popular Cosmoknights series and the illustrator of a comic series based on the Netflix show GLOW, a fictionalization of the characters and gimmicks of the 1980s syndicated women’s professional wrestling circuit Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling.
