WELCOME TO iREAD

A good book is a window into another place, another time, another life. Join us as we venture out on this year’s reading journey: Have Book–Will Travel!

iREAD programs are used by libraries all over the United States and in eighteen countries across the globe. Programming includes activities, graphics, crafts, reading lists, and much more for children, teens, and adults.

Our artists this year have provided wonderful illustrations that highlight the travel theme:

We are excited to welcome Anna Dewdney as the featured illustrator for our 2013 iREAD Summer Reading Program. Anna is the author and illustrator of many children’s books, including the popular Llama Llama series.

Terri Murphy, illustrator of One Day I Went Rambling, has contributed three flights of fancy: one each for children, teens, and adults. Terri is also a children’s librarian.

Samantha Schroeder has supplied a colorful poster for teen and tween readers, illustrating how imaginations soar through reading.

Patrick Girouard has created 50 pieces of original spot art in addition to the multiple pieces each artist has provided.

All of this wonderful art is available in the “Graphics” chapter of the Resource Guide and CDs which includes programming contributed by librarians from all over the world.

Over the past 30 years, iREAD has grown into a leader of Summer Reading Program development. We provide libraries, large and small, with all of the resources they need to promote, launch, and execute great reading programs.
