We are wagging our tails in anticipation of the 2014 iREAD summer reading theme: Paws to Read! and we hope that this website of the Paws to Read! graphics, resources, and incentives will excite you as well.
Tad Hills and his friend Rocket are the featured illustrator and mascot, respectively, for Paws to Read! Tad is author and illustrator of How Rocket Learned to Read, Rocket Writes a Story, and the Duck & Goose board books. Rocket is smart and cute.
iREAD summer reading programming includes activities, graphics, crafts, reading lists, incentives, and much more for children, teens, and adults.
Our Resource Guide includes summer reading ideas contributed by librarians from all over the world. The graphics CDs include a wealth of original spot art from Tad Hills as well as noted illustrators Christian Slade, Patrick Girouard, Terri Murphy, Patrick McDonnell, Yusef Abonamah, and Tom Kelly.
Over the past thirty years, iREAD has grown into a leader of summer reading program development, providing libraries, large and small, with all of the resources they need to promote, launch, and execute great reading programs.
As a coordinated, self-supporting effort developed by the Illinois Library Association and librarians, every purchase from iREAD supports advocacy for libraries.
Thank you for supporting iREAD!
